Griffin Groundworks – A Family Business

At Griffin Groundworks, we take great pride in being a family business. Our company values are deeply rooted in generations of family involvement in the groundworks and construction industry. This familial heritage has instilled in us a strong work ethic, commitment to excellence, and a genuine care for our clients, helping us develop working relationships that last for years.

Founded back in 2018 by Chris Griffin and his partner Hannah, Griffin Groundworks started mainly as a plant hire company who also offered excavation services. We quickly expanded into many areas of the construction industry as you can see from our website, we can now offer construction, strip outs and all aspects of groundworks.

We are proud to say that our growth has multiplied year on year and we are now a predominant groundworks team in Kent. We believe that this is down to lots of hard work coupled with a fantastic back-office team and a time served crew who are all fully qualified with many years experience.

Hannah Fry

Company Director

Hannah is a director of the company and Chris’s partner, she has over 15 years experience working for some of the biggest names in financial services such as Citibank.

She plays an integral role to the business in all aspects, she also oversees the growth strategy of the company, backing up Chris who is out in the field liaising with customers and building relationships in the industry, without her help back at base we would not have succeeded as we have.

Chris Griffin

Managing Director

Although groundworks has been part of the family for generations and I was brought up around the industry, I didn’t go straight into it. I completed a 4 year business degree at Loughborough University, then undertook a graduate position at a Fortune 500 company with headquarters in the USA.

After that I followed my passion for investment property working in the residential development investment department of one of the worlds largest investment property companies, Jones Lang Laselle based on Warwick Street in London.

Following this Griffin Groundworks was born as a standalone company, starting with just myself and one machine. The business has grown exceptionally, proving ourself as a valued partner in the industry.

Karen Mullen

Office Manager

Karen is our office manager overseeing the running of the office on a daily basis. She is also our head of accounts and payroll as well, she has over 30 years experience in the construction industry and she plays a pivotal role in our day to day running of the company.

Keeping the family theme running, Karen is Chris’s mum meaning that here at Griffin Groundworks our emphasis truly is on being a family business.
